Samprazer Group Releases New Version of “Silêncio na Favela,” a Hit by Jorge Vercillo
The Brazilian samba and pagode group Samprazer will release its new rendition of “Silêncio na Favela”, a song originally composed by Jorge Vercillo, on June 5 across all digital streaming platforms. The release is part of the upcoming album “Reviver – O Lado B da Nossa História” (Revive – The B-Side of Our Story), scheduled to be released in July. The project revisits important moments in the group’s journey and celebrates songs that have been part of its musical history.
Inspired by the spirit of celebration and unity often associated with the World Cup atmosphere, Samprazer brings its own signature style to the track, featuring fresh arrangements and an emotional interpretation while preserving the essence of the original composition. The song will also be accompanied by a special music video, filmed in a community in the southern region of São Paulo, highlighting the song’s connection to real-life stories, experiences, and emotions shared by thousands of Brazilians.

The new version of “Silêncio na Favela” follows the release of “Sabor de Hortelã,” the first single unveiled from the “Reviver” project.
