Portuguese & Brazilian Awards Celebrates Its 11th Edition in the U.S., Honoring Prominent Figures of the Lusophone World
New York, September 2025 – The 11th edition of the prestigious Portuguese & Brazilian Awards, conceived by Marcilia Luzbet, was held with great success at the renowned Tarrytown House Estate in the United States. Traditionally taking place near the American Labor Day holiday, the event honors Brazilian and Portuguese individuals who excel in their respective fields, while strengthening cultural ties among Portuguese-speaking nations.
Hosted by singer Simony and actor Henri Castelli, the ceremony was marked by elegance, charisma, and heartfelt moments. The audience celebrated personalities who have distinguished themselves not only in the arts. But also through social, cultural, and humanitarian initiatives.
Among this year’s honorees were:

Kristhel Byancco, actress and author, who captivated the red carpet in a sophisticated black gown with a sweeping train;

Alexandre Canhoni, missionary and speaker, recognized for his humanitarian work in Niger, where he focuses on protecting vulnerable individuals and expanding access to education in underserved communities;

Priscila Santana, an internationally acclaimed musician whose career bridges artistic excellence and social activism;

Evandro Fioti, singer and songwriter who describes himself as a “craftsman of stories that traverse memory, affection, and spirituality”;

Rita Cadillac, an icon of Brazilian popular culture, immortalized as a dancer on the television show hosted by Chacrinha;

Lucas Viana, winner of the reality show A Fazenda (Season 11);

Lidi Lisboa, actress and participant in A Fazenda (Season 12);

Simone Sampaio, regarded as one of the most iconic muses in the history of São Paulo’s Carnival, celebrated for her reign at Dragões da Real and her influence across the samba community;

Tuta Guedes, a country music artist raised in a deeply musical family environment, who began her artistic journey at age five after receiving her first accordion from her uncle. Her grandfather, a talented saxophonist, led a family band in which everyone took part.
The evening also welcomed distinguished guests such as producer and entrepreneur Ricardo Faria and Nigerian royal figure Angelique Monet. An American ventriloquist who became a Nigerian queen through her marriage to the King of Eti-Oni, a region in Nigeria, she continues to practice her unique profession. Thus, entertaining Nigerian children with her ventriloquism performances.
The 2025 edition reaffirmed the mission of the Portuguese & Brazilian Awards. To celebrate excellence, honor cultural identity, and foster meaningful connections between Brazil, Portugal, and Portuguese-speaking communities around the globe.
