Polish actress, singer, speaker, mentor and educator Katarzyna Joanna Sperczynska has built an international career spanning classical and popular vocal performance, musical theatre, film, television, artistic education and international speaking.
A graduate of the Vocal and Acting Department of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where she earned her Master’s degree, and of the Two-Year Professional Conservatory of Musical Theatre at the New York Film Academy in New York City, Sperczynska has developed an interdisciplinary career bringing together performance, education and the human voice.
She also holds a degree in English Philology. Her artistic and educational work has taken her across Poland, the United States, the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe, including France and the Czech Republic, as well as India.
From Carnegie Hall to International Stages
Among the highlights of Sperczynska’s New York career are two appearances as a soloist at Carnegie Hall.
She first performed there as part of Celebration of Women, marking the centennial of women gaining voting rights in Poland, and later appeared as a soloist in a concert celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Polish composer Stanislaw Moniuszko.
Her New York appearances have also included a solo musical-theatre recital at The Plaza Hotel for the Kosciuszko Foundation, performances during the Chopin and Friends Festival, and numerous Polish-American cultural and civic events.
She has also appeared during New York fashion events and has represented Polish culture through music at prominent community occasions in the United States.
Internationally, Sperczynska participated in the 25th Women Economic Forum in New Delhi, India, as a soloist, speaker and mentor. Her speaking engagements included The Power of “Being” As The Foundation Of True Feminine, and she received the Iconic Leaders Creating a Better World for All award.
A Voice Trained for the Stage
Sperczynska’s artistic foundation combines classical vocal and acting training with professional musical-theatre education in New York that also included film and television training.
Her musical-theatre experience includes Beth in Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along and Olga/Ensemble in Maury Yeston’s Nine in New York.
Her international theatre work includes Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera, Nettie in Carousel, Louisa von Trapp in The Sound of Music, and ensemble work in Wicked, Ragtime and Candide through London Musical Theatre Orchestra play-through/Sitz projects.
Her screen career includes a co-starring role in the original movie musical American Dreamin’, in which she played Linnie Lulu. The film was presented at the Chelsea Film Festival in New York in 2019.
Television, Radio and Performance in Poland
Alongside her international work, Sperczynska has continued performing in Poland as a guest actress and singer, presenting musical-theatre, operetta and classical repertoire.
She has been a recurring guest on Polish television and radio, with work including concerts produced or broadcast by TVP3 Opole and a solo concert transmitted live by Radio Opole.
Katarzyna also participated in an internationally transmitted concert commemorating Pope John Paul II, produced by TVP3 Opole, appearing alongside Grammy Award-winning composer and pianist Wlodek Pawlik and other distinguished Polish artists.
Her performances in Poland have included appearances at Piwnica pod Baranami in Krakow and festivals including the Morze Muzyki (“Sea Full of Music”) festival, Broadway w Krakowie (“Broadway in Krakow”), the International Organ Festival and the International Festival of Two Emperors (Festiwal Dwoch Cesarzy).
She has also created and performed her own musical projects, including Ordonka’s Men (Mezczyzni Ordonki) for the Hanka Ordonowna Festival in Rymanow-Zdroj and Katarzyna Sperczynska & Gentlemen.

In 2024, she received two recognitions at the 11th Wieslaw Ochman International Operetta and Musical Theatre Festival, held at the Krakow Opera and organized by the Polish Artists Assistance Foundation CZARDASZ.
A Voice Representing Poland
Throughout her work in the United States, Sperczynska has repeatedly had the honor of performing the national anthems of Poland and the United States at cultural and civic occasions.
Her appearances have included celebrations of the 99th and 100th anniversaries of Poland’s Independence at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York, as well as performances at Jersey City Hall and events connected with the Pulaski Day Parade and the Polish & Slavic Center.
For Katarzyna, representing Polish culture abroad has remained an important part of a career shaped by movement between Poland, New York and the wider international artistic community.
From Performer to Educator
Over the course of her career, Sperczynska’s work has increasingly expanded beyond performance into artistic education and the relationship between voice, acting, body awareness, creative development and the well-being of the artist.
She has conducted musical-theatre and vocal-acting workshops since 2013, working with young people, performers and speakers.
Her continuing professional development in voice has included Estill Voice Training, Vocal Balance Teacher Training in London, The Singing Athlete™, Vocal Kinesthetics, and ongoing Flow Phonation training with its creator, Dr. Hubert Noe.
She has also spoken at the international IVTOM MIX seminars, addressing self-awareness and career development, and has worked as a mentor with StandOut Speakers Academy in London.
Her academic and educational work currently includes teaching students of Acting for New Media at the Warsaw Film School, where she integrates vocal technique, acting, musical storytelling, interpretation, body awareness and stage presence.
Creating One More Dream — New Works Series
One of Katarzyna’s recent educational projects grew directly from her years of musical-theatre training in New York.
She created, organized and directed One More Dream — New Works Series at the Warsaw Film School, serving as the project’s director and vocal coach and preparing acting students to work on original contemporary musical-theatre repertoire.
The project grew out of a collaboration she initiated with American composer and educator Bobby Cronin, with whom she had previously studied and collaborated at the New York Film Academy.
During her NYFA education, Sperczynska had worked with Cronin on the school’s New Works Series as a student assistant director. Years later, she brought that experience into her own work with students in Poland.
For One More Dream, Katarzyna developed and led the students’ artistic process, directing their work and coaching them vocally and dramatically as they prepared Cronin’s original musical-theatre compositions.
Cronin joined the project through dedicated masterclass coaching sessions, working directly with the students on his own repertoire and offering the perspective of the composer on interpretation, musical storytelling, phrasing and dramatic intention.
The project gave students the opportunity to experience a process modeled on contemporary New York musical-theatre training: developing original repertoire not only as singers, but as actors and storytellers in direct dialogue with the composer.
Voice, Stress and Sustainable Artistry
Katarzyna’s work as an educator has also expanded into the relationship between voice, breath, stress and artists’ psychophysical well-being.
She received a KPO for Culture scholarship, funded by the European Union, for her educational-artistic project Voice and Stress Resilience.
The project explores how conscious work with voice and breath can support self-regulation and help artists develop healthier and more sustainable approaches to their profession.
Her educational approach also draws on elements of logotherapy and noo-psychosomatics, particularly in supporting self-awareness, authentic expression, artistic identity and the search for meaning.
These areas have increasingly become part of one broader question underlying Sperczynska’s work:
What allows an artist not only to develop a voice technically, but to function sustainably, authentically and meaningfully as a whole person?
International Collaboration and Vocal Education
Sperczynska continues to create educational opportunities connecting artists in Poland with internationally recognized voice specialists and theatre practitioners.
Her recent work has included collaboration with Andrew Byrne, creator of The Singing Athlete™, bringing his neuro-based approach to vocal training to educational events in Poland co-organized with Maciej Turlejski.
This direction reflects the evolution of Sperczynska’s career: from studying internationally herself to creating opportunities for a new generation of performers to access international knowledge, methods and artistic collaboration.
More Than a Performer
For Katarzyna, performing has never been only about appearing onstage.
Her work increasingly centers on voice as a meeting point between artistic technique, identity, confidence, communication and purpose.
She sees the voice not simply as an instrument, but as a way of connecting — with an audience, with other people and with oneself.
Her guiding principle, “To be the guide I once longed to have,” reflects her commitment to helping developing artists navigate not only the technical demands of performance, but also the larger process of discovering their artistic identity and what they want their work to communicate.
Sperczynska is also the author of the chapter “Musical – magia teatru” (“Musical – The Magic of Theatre”) in the academic volume Republika musicali. Historia – gatunek – interpretacje, published by Adam Mickiewicz University Press.
A New York Moment in Central Park
During her August 2026 visit to New York, Katarzyna returned to Central Park for a new photographic session capturing another chapter in an artistic journey that has repeatedly connected Poland and New York.
The images reflect an artist whose career has moved across countries, stages and disciplines — from classical vocal training and musical theatre to film, international television, education, mentoring and an increasingly holistic exploration of the human voice.
Today, Katarzyna Sperczynska continues to connect her Polish artistic foundation with the training and professional relationships she developed in New York and an expanding international network of performers, composers, educators and voice specialists.
Her journey reflects a belief that a voice can be more than an instrument.
